They need to have energy sources to nourish themselves in order to go through the days of their life. But let's be careful. They're doing all this very intelligently, but without knowing they're doing it. Whereas we, and many other creatures, complex creatures before us, because we have a nervous system, having the possibility of feeling, can map out the world around us.
