Sally Kohn: Industrialization survives in boot straps on top of the slavery model. She says there is an argument to be made that southern agricultural system of slave labor and northern industrial system created a very profitable, essentially trade system. "It explains why anti slavery sentiments in the north were more popular in rural areas where there weren't," she says.
