Anxieties and Regulations in Ottoman Aleppo's Bathhouses

This chapter explores the anxieties and regulations surrounding nudity and covering in the bathhouses of Ottoman Aleppo. It examines how Muslim jurists address these issues in fatawa and feq literature, using Sharia court cases as examples. The chapter also discusses the separation of men and women in the baths and the concerns about contact between different communities.
