I'm a Child of the 60s, Adam

I was lucky too that from about the age of 17, I was passionate about literature. And there was a lot of stuff about Roland that I could definitely relate to. But if I hadn't found writing, Adam, I think I would have drifted because I didn't really want to be a teacher. In some ways, I am a child of the 60s in that respect. The Suez Crisis happens, Colonel Nasser of Egypt nationalizes the Suez Canal. We were all herded into military camps. It was only nine or 10 days, but it had such an impact on me. My mother, thank goodness, was away in England at the time.
