Tom Becomes a Father Figure

In this chapter, the narrator introduces Tom Harris, who becomes like a father figure to the children. They discuss the creation of Tom as a representation of their longing for a closer relationship with their own dad. Tom builds a museum of underwater life with the children, but a new character named Goldie is introduced as his attention starts to shift elsewhere.
