Are They Just Exploiting Me for Free Dinner?

The idea that she somehow just wanted to get a meal out of him is a little preposterous and somewhat delusional. He's got to understand that that cultural imprint on him does not jive with modern young women who are using a dating app. Like they are not, they don't compute. And so he's got to either look for women who that appeals to, or he needs to adjust his approach in order to maximize his success.
