How to Use Animal Hearts for Heart Transplants

For many years we have always used animal hearts, rabbit, skinny pigs, pigs sometimes. When I was at Cornell we actually use even horse hearts. The main idea is to try to minimize the use of animals. And also most importantly what we want to study is the human heart. So it's pretty amazing that we can actually now do those experiments in the real hearts, in the real human hearts. We can do those kinds of simulations now.
