Historical pornography is a powerful counter narrative to how we like to read history. It's not free from horrendous misogyny and abuse as you point out but it puts pain to the idea that they weren't enjoying sex or that people feared it. Writers were constantly referring to sort of taverns bridges parks as places they were having sex so I think bodies were much more accessible in many ways.
