The Importance of Adaptability in Changing Climates

The world I worked on in the past in Central Asia, the nomad world, is seen by from Chinese sources back through to the Sumerians. If you're nomadic peoples, then you are primitive. You're not able to retain the wisdom that you need to live inside a city. And I think that one of the things I think about big population sizes is their adaptability and their flexibility and sensitivity. When there are changes of monsoon rains, if there's failure, then those populations can disperse very quickly. The vulnerability and risk is hugely important.
