As You Like It has a curious position in Shakespeare's Uvere, penned in 1599. We see it wedged between Julius Caesar and Hamlet. I believe he still had the death of his son Hamlet firmly in his mind,. And it wouldn't be too long after As You Like It until we get Shakespeare's tragic procession.
