I didn't realize there was organized running teams at that time in my life it was just something I did maybe I'd be out at the cabin and run with him a little bit or there'd be some kids race. It wasn't until middle school that I realized you could actually like do this as a sport. My daughter sometimes her senior year high school became so much less about fun and what she'd love before and almost a sickness because of how competitive we areYeah it's a slippery slope right because you want to be as competitive as you can be but then it can spiral out of control where you lose the love of the journey.
