When I was in college, I heard Ray Charles sing where Mary and Anderson did in Constitution Hall. By the time I got the tickets we had to sit way up in the back on the second floor. There were only, there were fewer than 10 white people there. In the segregated stuff? Yeah. Well, we weren't all the same. It's not like it even today, it's more well to the right of where it was in the 1970s. The southern states are in the small towns and rural areas.
