How to Prevent a Tantrum From Happening
Mona Wertheim: When a child is having a tantrum, we look at the level of movement in their body. She says that could be moving through their mouth, yelling and screaming or it could be actually flailing of the body. Sometimes if they get screechy or loud, that's an indicator or very, very low and quiet,. That's another indicator, maybe of the blue pathway. And so then how does the behavior deescalate after that? Because now, the child's hopefully not going to be in the red zone, but still might be frustrated.
