The Importance of Biblical Narratives

An Old Testament example would be David's character and how it's developed in 1 Samuel 17, the narrative that I mentioned a bit ago. There's a constant question sort of raised throughout that narrative. And then Goliath is stunned that he's facing this boy instead of a man. So just to say, when it comes to biblical narratives, we're doing something highly unusual. We are often reading on our own and audiences heard Old Testament narratives. It wasn't for a long time before private Bible readers ever came on the scene until hundreds of years after even the New Testament.
