Philip says he hopes his work encapsulates ideas people can't put into words. If these ideas can't be articulated, how does one talk about them? How does one bring them into the world? And that's partly why I've taken so long writing. At the end of the book, I dare to tackle topics such as values, purpose and the nature of the sacred. As soon as you start talking about the sacred, every word you utter is false. So it took me a very long time to articulate it. One has to both say and unsay.
