The Pros and Cons of a Left-Sided Double Lumen Tube

Double lumen tubes probably come with a cost of increased sore throat, but they may afford benefits such as speed for placement and less need for repositioning. Bronchial blockers have some particular advantages that may make them the right choice independent of these other considerations in some situations. If you're planning to take a patient to their post-operative destination intubated, using a bronchial blocker avoids the need to re-intubate the patient at the end of the case.
