Open College Podcast

CHAPTER

The Will to Power

Each of us is constituted by power. It's the metaphysical force and we individuals are just localized centers through which the power operates. All power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men. There is no worse heresy than that the office sanctifies the holder of it. Power gives the politician options and the politician chooses which option to exercise. That's where character comes into play. Things are not like the characters enthralled to Soron's ring.
