Brahms - A Symphony About Death

The first movement a lament, an obsession, defiance and resignation. The second movement, nastalgia. And the third movement may be a different kind of nastalia, perhaps to childhood. But in this middle section of the last movement, bram's rage and fire seems to have gone out,. We have arrived at this resigned procession of incredible sadness and lovebut it doesn't last. It reaches a crescendo of drama that brahms almost never equalled. Here, brahm sums up the symphony in a remarkably short time.
