Somali community reputation and honor is really at the hands of men. If he says something about you, then it's taken as truthful. Even though our religion tells us that anybody were to slander somebody's honor, you're in trouble. And so what's better, it's just to hide, you know, look down and just deal. That'sbetter than when it comes out and you're forever tainted as that girl.
