How High Up Did They Go?
Many senders were looking to us at the time to come up with something, and that added an extra burden. Added to this stress was the fact that most experts shared a sense of hopelessness. They thought the disease was just too clever to be treated. But doctor oda rejected that position. I felt that the notion that the disease was inherently untreatable, and that one would declare it so, would doom patience with aids. It was essentially an intolerable position for me to accept.
