There's a momentary trend of adapting japane oro movies, and this really was the first one. We took it, a japanese horror, you know, kind of colt classic at that moment, and we remade it,. And then there was a whole bunch of like, kono copy cats afterwards. I feel like, i don't know that this film would have been as interesting if gorbinsky wasn't able to be inspired by another film. Like, it's almost like grminsky built upon the first iteration of this project and did his own thing with it.
