Do You Want to Save the Banks, Not the Bankers?
Korea had next to no crisis in 2008. What had happened in 1998, shielded Korea from the vagaries of Wall Street. And it wasn't just South Korea: It was Cantonesia. Scandinavian banks in 1992 went bust, all of them that made some stupid decisions. The states back then, they would say, social democratic back then, no longer. They bailed out the banks, got rid of the bankers,. nationalized the banks, and then sold them off within two years back to the private sector. So that's one thing I would do, save the banks, not the bankers. If I wanted to boost demand, I wouldn't bring money to give to the finances.
