The Life and Times of a Social Insect Biology Student Group

The faculty and everyone who worked there, the staff, the students, the postdocs, were one big lively hive. Everybody's super excited and working hard on different aspects of social insect biology and theory. Lots of informal gatherings to float our half-baked ideas to each other. You could count on unfiltered comments and reactions, often getting slammed with very blunt rejection. But these forms toughened us up and were great learning pitches for theories and research plans.
