The Importance of Prophecy

Prophecy is the literary device used within their writings that goes hand in hand with prophetic utterances. In Ezekiel there's this prophecy being made directly or judgement being made directly to the people who zechariah is speaking to but it's also talking about hundreds of years in the future. Even now good Christians can have vast disagreements over the interpretation of these prophecies. We are on this side of the cross and so we can go back and read those powerful prophecies with this greater knowledge than they had.
