Airbus was aware of similar malfunctions of the auto throttle system of a three hundreds and eig three tenhs, some of which were earlier than the manufacture of the accident aircraft. Until this accident, airbus only issued service information letters and technical follow ups about the issue. The most probable cause of these malfunctions has been the excessive friction in the cinematic linkages between the throttles and theAuto throttle system coupling units.
