The Resilience of Role-Playing Games
The popularity of role-playing games really doesn't matter that much. The only time it matters is, are you going to find a large community of people talking about it? Are you able to easily find players who understand the game that you're trying to run and are eager to join you? Those are really the only issues. But a lot of times, even if it's a really archaic RPG, if you can sell it to three, four, five other people and say, Hey, I found this really interesting role-playing game. It's got this really good idea," they'll try it out.
