SNCC and the Civil Rights Movement

SNCC leader in Nashville, Diane Nash, she put out a local call and 10 students joined her. They defied the police by singing civil rights song loudly in their cells. The images went around the world and drew diplomatic rebuke upon the Kennedy administration. Within a few days new riders from all over the eastern US joined those who had already remained in Birmingham which included current US Congressman John Lewis.
