In the early 19 hundreds, bank robbery was mostly a job that was reserved for hoboes and yegs. The texas bankers association started putting out bounties specifically for dead bank robbers. This led to crooked copse working with criminals who would trick dumb criminals into robbing banks so the cops could shoot them dead on the scene. But despite lawmen being totally against this policy, when it was in effect until 19 64, there were 100, forty successful bank hold ups and burglaries between 19 20 and 19 27. Out of those 100, forty, only 30 ended with the capture of the perpetrators.
