automation can be incredibly useful in the translation of a SQL dialect for example from one system to another. At Eventbrite I built an internal tool that used mostly reg X expressions just to change out certain things that were slightly different. Data lineage allows you to see the dependencies within your data stack both in terms of the transformation layer how models how tables are dependent as well as going into the consumption layer so understanding what is produced actually queried by any of the BI tools.
