The Man Premier by Brahms
The fifth movement is the only movement that brahms does not include in the man premier. Even though its placement seems to be as an afterthought, it held a deep personal significance to brahms. The three biblical texts he chose are painfully personal and speak to the recent loss of brahm's mother. As this moement comes to a close, bram softly trades off the final lines of the text in a call back to the fugue that we just finished. But in the end, all the voices will come together for one more passionate utterance of how lovely is thy dwelling placead move.
