Postmodernism and Marxism in the Domain of Political Economy
Postmodernism does not share an indubital affinity with Marxism, but actually condemns it. Michel Foucault is another such figure of the so-called postmodern tradition that has been highly critical of Marxism. Peterson's reduction of these thinkers to philosophical aberrations detached from Western civilization illuminates his own obliviousness to said canon, to put the canon Western civilization. Now, in Peterson's maps of meaning, which is a kind of move specifically about totalitarianism, he tries to grapple with and understand the historical instantiations of state-mandated fascist and totalitarianism in the 20th century.
