Taking This Poem Too Seriously

Frost first sent the poem to thomas, and just the poem, nothing else. Thomas reads it and responds: 'Methinks thou strikest too hard' In his letter, frost references the sigh in the famous last stanza. The end of the poem feels a certain lauh. It feels affirmative. You know, it feels like the idea is we take these challenging paths and we end up being an unique person that we are. But if you actually look at the poem, it's not that way.
