With satellites and supercomputers, we can forecast hurricanes pretty precisely now. A unfortunate example of this is Hurricane Florence from 2018. We're getting more information on shorter timescales about how those thunderstorms are changing. And it's much easier to see how the thunderstorms are evolving over time for a storm.
