Transgenderism and Free Speech

Matt Welch: I originally started writing about transgenderism in the context of free speech. It was a paper on rapid onset gender dysphoria that came out of Brown University written by Dr. Lisa Lippman. She had just noticed from parental reports, this major uptick in the number of adolescent females suddenly identifying as male. And all hell broke loose. There were activists calling for her to be fired. But she's not a conservative. She's very much in keeping with secular liberal worldview. and she just was trying to do her job.
