I Love You Porgy by Nina Simon

Nina simon, a neighbor of hensfury's in mount vernon, new york, inspired him to activism. Simon was horrified by the sixteenth street baptist church bombing of september 19 63 in birmingham, al Alabama. She would continue her activism on many fronts until her death from pancreatic cancer in 19 65. And she was so young when she wrote that poem, and so young whenshe was an activist in this way.
