How to Close an Abdominal Wall With Skin Soft Tissue

Skin soft tissue is such an important part of abdominal wall closure in general, not just in the elective setting but in the emergency setting. So for large wounds, even if there's some degree of contamination after I've managed all the contamination, bowel, etc., I will try to do some form of skin soft tissue closure that might require skin flaps. Deep dermal sutures to offload wound tension, perhaps nylon sutures or staples to try to get as much skin soft tissue coverage over the mesh.
