The Anti-Democratic Tendencies in Republican State Governments
The Tennessee action brought by Republican, the Republican super majority in the legislature to expel these two was unprecedented. It has caused a huge backlash and it has highlighted the anti-democratic tendencies in certain Republican controlled state governments. There's rampant gerrymandering at the state level that is putting state legislators out of commission as places where there can be actual competition. And then you have this like stark, just kind of race-based, what looks like just sort of retaliatory tactic here.
