The Importance of Care in Leadership

I'm ultimately a problem-solver, so I always start with the problem and then figure out what are the different ways to solve that. People obviously always matter in any organization, but in some cultures, they matter more. When I was at REA, truthfully, that was very strong as a cultural trait; you really cared for them. And yet I was brought in on an agenda of driving change and creating a culture of accountability. There was a clash.
