The Impacts of Immigration Rhetoric on Canada
David Frum: People are taking more of an economic lens as opposed to a cultural social lens about it. He says there's also the fact that cynical politicians are taking up anti-immigrant or immigrant critical rhetoric and deploying it for a cynical political game on the backs of immigrants. There's inter-provincial bickering, he says; migration is not just a federal issue - it's a provincial issue and a local issue too.Frum: It's awfully easy and convenient to blame migrants, especially if politicians are out there willing to sell those folks out for a few points in the polls.
