Alaska is quite dependent on the oil and gas industry for a lot of its economy. Some Alaskans including some Alaskans in the North Slope celebrated the project's approval because of the jobs and money it would generate. The project is expected to generate about 2500 construction jobs, 300 permanent positions and about 17 billion in revenue.
