A new book by claudia golden from harvard university, called career and family, women's century long journey towards quality. She says the first generation that she studied, who were born between 18 78 and 97, contained plenty of working women but a successful career in that era required pretty much just foregoing children altogether. So you really have to skip forward to the fifth group that she studies, that were born in 19 58. And that group of women was really the first who could aspire to achieve both career and family.
