How Do Corner Fills Work in the NBA?
A lot of times these plays, whether you make or miss are going to conclude quickly. You need that guy back to not give up a two on O to go in the other way. Russell is great at hitting that diagonal because that diagonal pass to the guy that's running the opposite wing. The diagonal pass also flips the strong side and weak side. So one of the reasons it's so effective is defensively your job becomes different once the ball gets passed from Dilo to the other side of the floor.
