The Role of D-Dimer in Pregnancy and PE
Pregnancy is a risk factor for PE, but not all pregnant patients are high risk. If we image every pregnant patient of whom we have any suspicion of a palmarainblism, about 95% of these scans will be negative. That's a lot of radiation. We know these patients protect us as providers, but it's probably not the best thing for our patients.
