The Importance of Individual Autonomy

There's something fundamentally, deeply interconnected between us. I think that Plato and Socrates were closer to the truth when they started with the assumption that we were interdependent than they derived individual autonomy as a manifestation of a functional social system. There is no doubt that radical inequality is tragic psychologically and physically. Its poverty is not that terrible. As long as you're not starving and have a place to be, poverty is not as challenging as being having the impoverished and close proximity to those who are obscenely wealthy.
