There are no shortage of plans for much smaller nuclear reactors that don't use water as the primary colent. And that if they a fail, they actually shot down rather than melting down. The environmentalists got things seriously wrong and are still doing so. If you want cheap power of the sort that would make people rich enough to start carrying about environment, it seems to me that you would be a nuclear power supporter.
