The Origins of the Neutron

The neutron and protons, apart from the electrical charge, are pretty well the same. And they each play a role in the atomic nucleus. So can you tell us how it was discovered and by whom and so on? Well, the idea of the neutron goes back to Ernest Rutherford about a century ago. It was not until 1932 that the discovery actually took place.
