Freire's notion of cultural power has a dual focus as part of his strategy to make the political more pedagogical so all of a sudden politics becomes an educational tool. First he argues that educators have to work with the experiences that students adults and other learners bring to schools and other educational sites culturally responsive teaching. This means making these experiences and their public and private forms the object of debate and confirmation. It means legitimating such experiences because you must it legitimate and experience otherwise you would be silencing people which they can't just be wrongYou're just silencing them from your cultural perspective by imposing it on them.
