Putin's Visit to the UAE Is a Symbol of the Strength of the Relationship Between Kazakhstan and Russia
Kazakhstan's president is on his first overseas visit since being re-elected last week. He was under a new constitution and won a seven-year term, which must be one of the longest in the world. It had felt that the Central Asian states had shifted quite dramatically away from Russia's orbit but this visiting itself reminds people that Kazakhstan and others have a limited room to manoeuvre. And then finally, I just wanted to flag up a Reuters report, which came out last Friday, which was also important between Ukrainian and Russian officials about reopening an ammonia pipeline.
