Goliath is described as having a height of six cubits and span in first samuel. In to day's common measurements, that would make goliath almost nine feet 9 inches tall. But an archaeological site known as tel sapi has been revealed to be the philistine city of gath from which originated goliath - if the scriptures are to be believed. Professor geoffrey chadwick argues that such measurements actually varied from place to place in the ancient world.
