The US gets a bonus for this sort of security for, you know, dollarization bargain at polls. I think that's a relatively small part of the overseas dollar market. And so it's certainly possible if the Fed is sufficiently irresponsible then he can overwhelm that even though Germany and Britain don't have cool bases. If on the other hand, Fiat's going to live a long time, then I think it's much more likely that we skip the gold phase altogether.
